Our Mission

The Maynard Family – Our Philosophy of Education

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.” Psalm 1:8

We believe that the word of God to be the foundation for the Christian faith. We believe that the word of God is the absolute truth and contains an accurate depiction of history, morals, character, humanity, judgment, humility and all of the sciences. We stand firm that God created the heavens and the earth in 6 literal days about 6,000 years ago and created the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, in His likeness.

Our purpose is to teach our children to love the Lord with all their hearts, souls, minds and strength and to love each other as themselves. We believe these are the greatest of all God’s commandments. We hope to impress on our children a strong Christian worldview. We want our children to learn and to love God’s word first and foremost, to trust it implicitly and learn how to defend their faith when questioned.

We desire that our children learn the truth in history as depicted in God’s word; develop a love for learning that will stay with them their whole lives; grow strong academically in the arts and sciences; acquire strong work habits, ethics and moral character; obtain excellent thinking and communication skills in order to effectively speak and work with those in which they come in contact; pursue those gifts and talents that the Lord has blessed in them and that they will give thanks to Him for all His mercy and grace.

Finally we pray that our children would grow up to be well-rounded, mature and compassionate human beings. And that they would affect the world for Jesus Christ and continue on His legacy within their own families.

“We are to guard what has been entrusted to us by turning away from opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the Christian faith.” 1 Timothy 6:20, 21
